Bollywood gossip columns are reporting that the up-and-down romance between Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor has come to a rather acrimonious end. Seemingly Priyanka called it a day this time, rather than Shahid, whose doubts about the relationship had been headlined previously. Both strong personalities, the couple have had tempestuous moments.
 
Priyanka (see story below) is said to have left a week earlier than planned to fly to New York for her new film Anjaana-Anjaani, which had a January 3 start date. Media commentators hinted at a falling-out over another actor.
 
Shahid Kapoor’s new film Milenge Milenge, in which he stars with Kareena Kapoor, could be released next month on Valentine’s Day, a romantic date that many producers and distributors believe sends young filmgoers out searching for a love story.
 
The Bollywoodhott website says industry insiders hope for good returns when the film opens. They say Jab We Met, which also starred the formerly entangled duo, was successful because they had split before the film was released. “There is more magic to a screen couple that is not romantically involved in real life,” opined one source.
